St Columb Major – Hurling the Silver Ball
Every February
Hurling the Silver Ball is a centuries old form of Rugby. The St Columb Major Hurling is an ancient tradition (not to be confused with the Irish game) and generates a lot of fun and excitement in the town.
Point to Point Horse Racing
Every February
The East Cornwall Hunt Point to Point is a horse racing event over a well established course near Liskeard. Race distances are between 2.5 and 3 miles over brush fences. There are a minimum of six races.
World Pasty Championships – The Eden Project
Early March
The pasty championships – also known as the Olympics of the Oggy - celebrate the traditional Cornish pasty recipe, as well as some more unusual varieties.
St. Pirans Day
Early March
St. Pirans Day is the national day of Cornwall, named after St. Piran, the Patron Saint of tin miners. The event is celebrated throughout the County.
Falmouth Spring Festival
March/April
A festival to celebrate Falmouth's beautiful open green spaces, with guided walks and talks, garden spring clean events, Gardeners' Question Time and a Spring Fair. A full schedule is will be posted on the Festival website.
Boscastle Walking Week
March
A week of walks with experienced and informed local guides, for all ages and abilities. Explore the beautiful countryside around the village of Boscastle, steeped in myth and Arthurian legend.
Cornwall Spring Flower Show
April
A fragrant celebration of Cornish garden mania. Exuberant displays with camellias, daffodils, rhododendrons guaranteeing a colourful spectacle at the Boconnoc Estate. Featuring show gardens, horticultural trade stands and competitive classes.
St Endellion Easter Music Festival
March/April
This festival is a musical experience not to be missed.
Outsider St Agnes Outdoor Festival
April
The weekend is a quirky little celebration of the best that St. Agnes’s unique coastline and countryside have to offer – encouraging both the local community, and visitors.
Charity Garden Open Weekend at Tregothnan
April
This beautiful historic private garden opens its gates each Spring, just in time for guests to enjoy the magnificence of the camellia and rhododendron. Tickets for the event are limited to ensure the UK's largest garden opening is a pleasurable experience, and profits are donated to a different chosen charity each year.
Trevithick Day, Camborne

An impressive display of vintage steam powered vehicles, model exhibitions and fairground rides celebrate Cornwall's pioneering Richard Trevithick.
Porthleven Food Festival
April
This mouth-watering event celebrates all things food and drink, from locally produced dairy, meats, fruit and vegetables to ciders, wines, real ales, juices and gins.
Art 8 – Newquay Arts and Culture Festival
May
An Arts and Culture Festival, held over four days in the seaside town of Newquay. The festival is bursting at the seams with events, exhibits and workshops involving film, craft, spoken word, dance, photography, theatre, music, literature and more.
Fal River Festival
May/June
Celebrating life on the river Fal this is a community festival encompassing over 150 events, including a fish festival, gig racing, swimming, wildlife walks and lots more.
Royal Cornwall Show
June
Cornwall’s agricultural county show since 1793, this event has evolved into a fun-packed three-day event. Expect traditional livestock displays, but there is also the famous flower tent, show-jumping, impressive performances in the main ring and even a fun fair.
Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival
June
A fantastic free festival of maritime music and a great way to soak up the true atmosphere of Falmouth’s seafaring past with performances by dozens of groups from the UK and beyond.
Rock Oyster Festival
July
A midsummer celebration of food, music and art, taking place at the stunning venue of 17th century Dinham House overlooking the Camel Estuary near Wadebridge.
Charlestown Regatta Week
July
A week of fun events for all the family including raft races, craft fairs, donkey derby, live music and a colourful carnival - all raising funds for the local community.
St Endellion Summer Music Festival
July
Internationally famous festival, featuring a symphony orchestra, brass bands, and a chorus of 75, with guest artistes, all performing classics from Brahms, Stravinsky, and Broadway.
Boardmasters, Surf, Skate and Music Festival
August
Surf, skate & music festival, taking place across two legendary locations on the stunning North Coast of Cornwall. The festival features the best in action sports including Surfing, as well as a weekend packed with live music from top performers.
Falmouth Week
August
Falmouth Week has grown into the largest sailing regatta in the south west with more than 450 yachts racing over eight days, and a lively programme of shore side events.
Fowey Regatta and Carnival Week
August
One of the best local regattas in the country, with a fun-filled week for all the family. Events include a midweek Carnival, Red Arrows display and a spectacular firework display over the harbour.
