The famous 100ft flower garland displayed in the hall at National Trust’s Cotehele House is a labour of love for staff and volunteers who start working on it in November. Tens of thousands of flowers make up the spectacle each year, which is exhibited throughout December.

8. See Santa at Paradise Park, weekends throughout December, 12-2pm

Santa at Paradise Park

An award-winning wildlife park in Hayle with over 650 birds and animals, Paradise Park offers plenty for the whole family to enjoy at any time of year. But at Christmas, Santa also makes an appearance in his grotto. Open on the first two weekends of December and then from Saturday 17th December right through until Christmas eve.

Explore the historic Heligan Gardens by lantern at this free event. There will also be live choirs, fresh seasonal treats from the bakery, and a 10% discount in the shop where you’ll find plenty of gifts and local produce.
