10 reasons to visit Cornwall in June

Looking for things to do in Cornwall this June?

We’ve got you covered – whether you’re looking for culture, good food or something a little different, there is plenty to choose from in the June calendar.

1. The annual Royal Cornwall Show near Wadebridge is a feast for the senses – hundreds of exhibitors, a packed entertainment schedule and miles of stalls, displays and activities.

2. Take a Cornish cream tea in an Elizabethan Manor and build your own mini manor at the Fathers’ Day event – all taking place at Trerice near Newquay.

3. See a rare salamander at Blue Reef Aquarium – he is thought to be the inspiration behind the Toothless, in How to Train your Dragon (but sadly can’t fly!)

4. One of the biggest maritime music festivals in Europe, The Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival takes place over Fathers’ Day weekend from 12th to 14th June.

5. Celebrate the life and works of Cornish poet and writer Charles Causley at the annual Festival in Launceston from 12-14 June. Join in writing workshops, meet authors, sample local food and drink and listen to readings.

6. Explore the flavours and fun of Cornwall at the Heartlands Market weekend, just off the A30 near Camborne. Taking place on 13th and 14th June the event is the perfect opportunity to sample local produce, try local crafts and enjoy Cornish entertainment.

7. Looe Food Festival – fresh produce, food demonstrations, tastings and plenty of mouth-watering foods to inspire the tastebuds at this event on 27th and 28th June.

8. Polo on the beach – a thrilling weekend of action and beach entertainment at the annual Polo on the Beach event at Watergate Bay.

9. Rippon IFWA World Tour – jet-skiers from all over the globe hit the waves at Fistral Beach on 5th June for a weekend of action, aerial stunts and competition.

10. Take an underground tour of a Cornish tin mine, as used in the recent hit Poldark TV series, and discover the history of mining at the famous Geevor Tin Mine.

June is such a popular month to visit Cornwall that there’s not much availability left at Ocean Blue near Padstow!  But we still have some properties if you’d like to experience just some of the things we’ve highlighted above.  Check the latest availability online or call us on 01841 719090 to book.
